Two properties with a similar price can meet very different needs. A common grid helps to see what really matters for your project.
Consider the location day to day
Note the access, travel times, services and immediate surroundings. Find out about any work nearby and, if possible, explore the neighbourhood at different times of day.
Compare what is included
Floor area, condition, equipment, outdoor spaces, services and management features: set the same headings side by side. For a project under construction, request the plans, specifications and contractual schedule.
Document the expenses
Request a breakdown of the charges, maintenance and management terms. Separate documented amounts from estimates. Rental projections must state their assumptions and are not a guarantee.
Identify the points still open
List the missing documents and the answers to be obtained for each property. A useful comparison also shows the uncertainties, so you know which checks to request before proceeding.
